Alabang Call Center Pirates?

How true are the rumors that Genpact is virtually pirating employees from from similar call centers like HSBC and JP Morgan? From what I understand Genpact is and will be in great need of experienced employees from financial accounts due to their recent success in landing the Wachovia account. Genpact will likely be very successful in 2008 because of the Wachovia business. They've invested a great deal to meet the demands of Wachovia and growth for next year that they have established 2 buildings in the NorthCyberZone area right smack in the middle of Convergys and HSBC.

Will they be filling those two buildings with HSBC, JP Morgan and Convergys employees then? There have been numerous reports to me that some of the HSBC employees based in Alabang are secretly "testing the waters" at Genpact to see if they can land a better position and/or better pay! Tsimis! Tsimis....

Hi CCV,

First off, I'd like to greet you a Happy Holidays!
I came across your blogs a couple of months ago and your posts hooked me. Here was someone who was opening a lot of information from the same industry where I am now to a lot of people and seem to enjoy doing it (and now making serious money from it :).
However, when I started seeing non-call center related blogs, I was honestly turned off.... only to found out that was where your income stream was coming from. (stupid me!).

Anyhow, you have inspired me to do the same (just started out a couple of weeks back) and hope to have another source of steady income by just typing out some words on my PC.

I'm still learning and my blog is at http://carpediem26.blogspot.com
It's nowhere close where your blog is, but I'll try and retrace your steps to your success.. :)

Thanks again and long live call center bloggers!

Hi CCV this is ladymenefunien. I just have to say that Genpact is not pirating people from the call centers beside us becuase the applicants come to us. And we only have one building NOT two. The other building beside us is a Genpact one but NOT for the Wachovia partnership.
Although it is true that we need experienced people (hiring resumes in January 2008), we have hired people who have no call center experience at all because we are looking for something in each and every candidate that walked through our doors and it is something no other recruitment outfit tried to look for.
The people from CVG and HSBC have been applying to us and most of their reasons for trying us out is because they are not happy where they are and the growth they saw in the past is slowly diminishing. I've done over hundreds of interviews for our CS and Collections openings for the past two months and there is a pattern of reasons from both companies as to why their employees are applying. I don't think we're any better but they always say that employees leave managers and supervisors NOT the company as a whole. If we become supervisors and managers too and not the leaders that we should be, then our employees too will leave us in the long run.
As for JPMC, as far as I know we did not have much of them applying with us. We have an agreement with JPMC not to entertain any applicants that are currently connected with them.
I hope this dispels any other rumors you may have heard about us. We're still going to ramp up and hire next year but we want people who are in it for the long run.

Thanks lady! It sure is nice to hear from you again and clarify the rumors. We'd have to admit that there's really no way of preventing people from leaving and moving to other companies. It just a reality. If employees leave then it's the fault of their former company because they did not do enough to retain their employees. If HSBC wants to keep their employees, I think their should also be an agreement similar to what you say your company has with JP Morgan.

BTW, I heard from a friend that your Wachovia facility is absolutely fabolous! Much much better than HSBC. But that's just what I heard... Hehehe... Tsimis again! LOL

Thank you very much madam for replying so quickly (I assume you're on a long vacation like most CC Managers out hehe!)
Yes ma'am, I would like a link back on your site.

I will be boning up on information on the paid blogging sites.
